Flying Blue just dropped their May promo rewards, and at the same time, Chase is running a 20% transfer bonus to Flying Blue through May 27. That means you can stack both discounts and fly to Europe for as little as 16,000 Chase points one-way in economy.
Let me break down exactly how this works, which routes are on promo, and what the math looks like when you stack both deals together.
How the Double Discount Works
Every month, Flying Blue releases a batch of discounted award flights called Promo Rewards. These are specific routes priced 25% below the standard award rate. You can book them throughout the month for travel through October 31, 2026.
On top of that, Chase is running a 20% transfer bonus to Flying Blue right now. Every 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points you transfer becomes 1,200 Flying Blue miles. The bonus runs through May 27, 2026.
Stack them together and the savings compound. A route that normally costs 25,000 Flying Blue miles drops to 18,750 with the promo. Then with the 20% transfer bonus, you only need to transfer 16,000 Chase points to cover those 18,750 miles in your Flying Blue account. Chase requires transfers in increments of 1,000, so you round up and end up with a small buffer of extra miles.
That's roughly 36% less than the standard price.
The Math at a Glance
May 2026 Promo Routes: What's Available
Flying Blue released 41 promo routes this month. All are operated by Air France or KLM, and all are priced 25% below the standard award rate. Some routes are open to everyone, while others are exclusive to Flying Blue Extra subscribers.
Long-Haul Economy (Starting from 18,750 miles / 16,000 Chase UR)
These are the big ones. Europe to the US, one-way, starting from just 16,000 Chase points after stacking both discounts.
Open to everyone:
Flying Blue Extra exclusive:
There are also promo routes in premium economy, business class, and intra-Europe flights on the list. Destinations like Bogota, Buenos Aires, Geneva, Barcelona, and more. If any of those interest you, check the full list of Flying Blue Promo Rewards here.
Which Chase Cards Can Transfer to Flying Blue?
You need a Chase card that earns Ultimate Rewards transferable points. That means:
All three transfer to Flying Blue at a 1:1 ratio (before the bonus). If you have a Chase Freedom Unlimited or Freedom Flex, you can combine those points into a Sapphire or Ink Preferred account first, then transfer to Flying Blue.
How to Book
Search for award availability on flyingblue.com. Look for flights on the promo routes listed above. Promo pricing shows up automatically when you search.
Transfer your Chase points to Flying Blue. Log into your Chase account, go to Ultimate Rewards, and select "Transfer to Travel Partners." Choose Flying Blue and enter the number of points you want to transfer. The 20% bonus is applied automatically through May 27.
Book the award flight once the miles land in your Flying Blue account. Transfers from Chase to Flying Blue are usually instant, but can take up to 48 hours.
Book before end of May for the promo pricing. Travel is valid through October 31, 2026.
One thing to keep in mind: transfer the points before May 27 to lock in the 20% bonus. The promo award routes last through the end of May, but the Chase transfer bonus expires a few days earlier.
My Take
This is one of those rare moments where two separate promotions line up perfectly. Flying Blue promo rewards happen every month, and Chase transfer bonuses to Flying Blue pop up a few times a year. Getting both at the same time means you're effectively getting 37.5% off standard award pricing.
The economy routes to the US are the standout value here. 16,000 Chase points for a one-way transatlantic flight is hard to beat. New York, Chicago, San Diego, Las Vegas, Denver. These are major cities with solid Air France and KLM service, and the promo pricing makes them a no-brainer if you've been sitting on Chase points.
Just remember: the Chase transfer bonus ends May 27, so don't wait until the last day of the month to pull the trigger.
